Here are the good things about

having a crayfish for a pet.

  • They are very easy to keep (most of them, anyway)

  • They are interesting to watch!

  • They just look so damn cool!

  • Hard to believe, but they aech have their own personality! Some are agressive and are always roaming around the tank, and some are shy and stay hidden under rocks all day.

But like all other pets, there are bad things such as;

  • They don't get along well together. Its not a good idea to house crayfishes in the same tank unless it is a really huge tank where they can keep to themselves.

More pictures of my various typres of orange crayfishes.

Here is Halloween nibbling
on a black gravel.
Hmmmm...he

Since this is my first website, I have absolutely no idea what to write - so here are more orange crayfish pictures.

Here is a picture of an Orange Dwarf Crayfish. Her name is Pumpkin Pie 2 - Pumpkin Pie 1 died a few days ago for no apparent reason.

This picture of Halloween 2 was taken a couple of days before she laid eggs.

Coming soon - pictures of her with eggs!

Here is Pumpkin Pie 1.
She's dead now. Why
she died is a mystery.
Its probably because I
used a substrate called Flourite
in her tank. Flourite is a special
kind of substrate for plants.
It releases vitamins and
minerals in the water. One of
the minerals it provides
is copper. Copper in
small amounts are harmless
to inverts, but I suspect
that Flourite releases too much
copper - and that's why
Pumpkin Pie died.

Halloween and Pumpkin Pie go together!

This is the male orange Procambarus Clarkii. His a more darker Orange-red than the female who is a lighter Yellow-orange.

The male's name is Halloween and the female's name is Pumpkin Pie.

This is a female Procamburus Clarkii.
